Stout Marinated Steak with Russian Imperial Kick Ass Sauce

Steak just got kicked up 10 notches when it got stout marinated and slathered in this sweet and spicy Russian imperial kick ass sauce!

This week I am excited to team up with my friend Melissa, AKA Melba from Drunk & Unemployed (DnU). She’s a local beer and spirits blogger and I like to cook with said beer and spirits so it was written in the stars or rather, in this case, it was fermenting in the brite tanks. There are only a handful of chicks on the island that write about beer. She is ridiculously knowledgeable about beer and never gives herself enough credit for it. She has taught me a whole lot, has embraced me as part of the community and has always supported me. For this I am so appreciative and give her all my support right back. So please stop by her blog, say hey and read about some beer and spirits!

Grilled Sausage and Peppers Skewers

Why is this a Foodgasm?

My Italian side is coming atcha again with this spin on a classic.  Sausage and Peppers is usually something you wouldn't want to prepare in the summer....but if you make them into kabobs and grill them its the perfect summer food! That's right- summer's not over yet- we still technically have two weeks left!

Recently poking around Instagram I saw someone made kabobs with sausage meat- immediately I knew sausage and peppers would be perfect in this format! How awesome are grilled veggies- sweet and crisp, with just a little brown around the edges. Then to really make it transform to this Italian favorite, I served these skewers with marinara. My Totally Roasted Marinara worked perfect for this!!  Plus this was incredibly easy to prepare- bonus!!

Comfort Food Fusion: Red Curry Meatloaf with Coconut Mashed Potatoes

Why is this a Foodgasm?

Does this sound crazy? If I didn't make it I would say yeah that is pretty crazy, but you know what? This is crazy amazing. Like meatloaf kicked up about 10 notches! So aromatic and just the right amount of spiciness. They are also LOADED with veggies! This is lowfat and a foodie's wet dream. American-Thai fusion happened and their baby was oh so beautiful!

I was on my way home and I was thinking I have some turkey chop meat and some veggies, I am gonna make a simple meatloaf and then I got home, opened the fridge and saw my beautiful red curry paste just chillin in the mason jar and I knew, these two needed to be married. An arranged marriage, but once together they realized that it was destiny! Why not add some Thai Red Curry, while I am at it, let's make mashed potatoes...coconut mashed potatoes for the full Thai effect!
